About Him

The man behind the edge,

Meet Max Saetia a Hermosa native and knife sharpener

Coming from a background in cooking, I’ve always valued the importance of having a sharp knife around in the kitchen. Things all began in 2019. School turned digital, and in my free time, I sharpened knives in the comfort of my garage. I saw this niche craft as a therapeutic outlet, practicing on Japanese whetstones: continuously honing my technique. Later that same year, I decided to share my passion for the craft with the South Bay, quickly growing my operations while still respecting the blade. Since then, my family has become an integral part of my business, and we even have a booth at the Brentwood Farmers Market, where you can find us every Sunday. 2023 marks the end of my time at the business as I leave to pursue higher education in London. Nevertheless, knife sharpening has brought more joy to us than we could ever ask for, and the business now vicariously lives on through my family, who still enthusiastically serves the LA area to this day!
